Wanell Lyle Cox, 80, of Duncan passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Wilkins Nursing Center. Graveside services will 10:00 AM Monday at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Nell was born June 22, 1935 at Ringling, Oklahoma the daughter of Charles C. and Stella (Burns) Lyle. She and Orville Lee Cox were married at Waurika, Oklahoma on June 3, 1950 and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers. Nell loved the Lord. She worked for many years in the nursery of Immanuel Baptist Church sharing Jesus with the children in her care. She had a knack for working with children and was loved by them all. Nell had a love for life and a beautiful heart. She worked for several households in Duncan and became like family to each one. While Nell loved everyone, she loved her children and grandchildren with a love like none other. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist church for over 50 years and her Sunday School class was very important to her. Nell was a mighty prayer warrior and if she said she would pray for you, you could rest assured that you were prayed for. She enjoyed reading and visiting with lifelong friends. Her favorite pastime was doing anything she could to help others. Survivors include her son Larry Cox and his wife Jeannie of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; her daughter Patti Turley and her husband Russell of Duncan; granddaughter Sarah Turley Bohannan of Yukon; grandsons Charley Cox of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Logan Turley of Duncan; great granddaughter Hailey Turley of Yukon and great grandson Grayson Rightmire of Yukon.
