Virgil Mason Bryant passed away on July 2, 2019 in the Marlow Manor Nursing Center at the age of 101 years.
Services to celebrate his life will be 11:00 AM Saturday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Lee Parish and Ron Stough officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery.
Viewing will begin Friday at the funeral home. There will be no family visitation.
Virgil was born in Wheatland, Oklahoma on November 25, 1917, the son of Bertie and Essie Bryant. He and Nellie Mae Jones were married January 14, 1940 at Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a retiree of Haliburton and preached for 70 years. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He loved to travel, hunt, and fish. He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Nellie Mae (Jones) Bryant, and his son Jerry Lawayne Bryant who passed away on Jan. 12, 2019, three brothers, JD and wife Wilma, Lloyd and wife Ozella, Pete and his wife Betty.
Survivors include one son, Artie and wife Debra of Duncan, Oklahoma, Jeanie Bryant Roland and husband Bill of Mineola Texas, Patsy Bryant Beall of Bedford, Texas; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family member.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tipton Children’s Home or Aspire Hospice.
