Vestel L. Nicholson

Vestel Loraine Campbell Nicholson, 89, of Duncan went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011 at her home in Duncan. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery. Vestel was born January 4, 1922 in Parker County, Texas the daughter of C.F. and Minnie Nancy Walker Campbell. She and Edward A. Nicholson were married November 28, 1936 in Weatherford, Texas and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1994.She work until her retirement in 1992 as a diagnostician for the Cleburne School District in Cleburne, Texas. She volunteered with the Oklahoma Blood institute, loved to do ceramics and painting and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church West. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Nelda Jean Watts and her husband Roy, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Survivors include Varda Neil Nicholson and his wife Sharron of Duncan, Eldon Nicholson and his wife Wanda of North Richland Hills, Texas and Estel A. Nicholson and his wife Libby of Denton, Texas; a sister Hazel Hughett of Weatherford, Texas; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. online condolences may be made at www.bailespolk.com
