Troy Shepard

Reverend Troy Shepard, 71, of Marlow passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at his home in Marlow. Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday in the Bethesda Church of God with Reverend Harold Metheny officiating. Interment will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Troy was born September 10, 1941 at Marshell, Texas the son of Oscar T. and Ollie Maude (Bridger) Shepard. He moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1949 and he was married to Helen Darlene Wingrove on August 8, 1957. He moved to Fort Worth Texas in 1958 and remained around that area until 1976 when he moved to Lindsay, Oklahoma. He preached, pastored, and evangelized since the age of 26. He became president of the IFGEA (International Full Gospel Evangelistic Association Inc.) since 1987. He returned to the Marlow area in 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers Bobby J., George Thadeus, David W., Roy and Karl Shepard, a sister Helen M. Huffines, a great grandson Anthony Reece Vaught, two grandchildren and three step sisters. Survivors include his wife Darlene Shepard of the home in Marlow; five sisters Ollie Bell Levacy of Lubbock, Texas, Effie Lee Latham and her husband Gary of Louisiana, Johnnie Bell Williamson of Gladewater, Texas, Ruth Ann Pope of Commerce, Texas and Ruby Lee of New Orleans, Louisiana; three sons Russell A. Shepard and his wife Diane of Rome, Texas, Troy D. Shepard and his wife Raquel of Fort Worth, Texas and Travis A. Shepard and his wife Joy of Marlow, Oklahoma; three daughters Stacy J. Vaught and her husband Thomas of Marlow, Oklahoma, Pamela J. Wilkerson and her husband Joe of Duncan, Oklahoma and Karla D. Cortez and her husband Manuel of Fort Worth, Texas; 30 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and our adoptive family Raymond, Lois and Sonny in Lindsay, Oklahoma and a nephew Tommy Shepard and his wife Becky of Wann, Oklahoma who he raised as his own. Pallbearers will be Clifford Vaught, Russell Shepard II, Travis Shepard II, Tommy Shepard, Thomas Vaught and Brandon Garrett.
