Stella Mae Garrett

Stella Mae Garrett, 89, of Duncan passed away Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 in the Gregston Nursing Center. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home with Dr. Jeremy Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Stella was born June 13, 1924 at Telephone, Texas the daughter of Manuel and Ethel (Wheat) Clement. She and Alva Garrett were married at Roswell, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1989. She worked as a seamstress for the Haggar Company and later in house keeping for the Duncan Regional Hospital. She was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church and loved working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother. Survivors include two sons David O. Garrett and his wife Dorthea of Achile, Oklahoma, Robert (Bobby) Garrett and his special friend Helen of Rushsprings, Oklahoma and Ricky L. Garrett and his wife Tammy of Duncan; her daughter Margie J. Burleson of Duncan; a very special grandson Jermey Burleson and her best friend Weese as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert D. Garrett, Shawn A.
