Stanley Clark Wood

Stanley Clark Wood, 99, of Velma passed away Friday, July 31st, 2020 in the Duncan Regional Hospital.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday in the Old Velma Cemetery with Reverend Harold Metheny officiating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

Stanley was born March 24, 1921 in Saint Jo, Texas the son of John Adam and Lula Belle (Padgett) Wood. He graduated from the Velma High School in 1942. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He and Alta Maurine Branch were married at Wichita Falls, Texas on July 1, 1946. And she preceded him in death. he enjoyed fishing and playing sports.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, four sisters and a daughter Alta June Vaught.

Survivors include his children Sue Marcum of Duncan, Reba Jo Lovett of Duncan and Billy Wood of Meridian; 11 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren and a special niece Willa Mae.
