Samuel Leon Dennis

Samuel Leon Dennis, 91, of Duncan passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in the Oklahoma Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday in the Fairview Cemetery at Tuttle, Oklahoma with Reverend officiating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Sam was born July 15, 1921 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of James William and Ella Muady Dennis. He served in the United States Air National Guard. He and Nina Ruth Carr were married July 22, 1953 at Midwest City, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death May 20, 2005. He worked as an Aircraft Mechanic until his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed collecting coins, copper wire, cans and gardening. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters Survivors include his daughter Betty Jo Swindall and her husband Cecil of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
