Ruby Jo Tanner

Ruby Jo Tanner, 81, of Duncan passed away Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at her home in Duncan. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Faith Church with Reverend David Morrow and Reverend Wayne Morrow officiating. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home form 6-8 PM on Tuesday. Ruby was born September 7, 1932 at Weavers Chapel, Oklahoma the daughter of Fred and Maggie Bell (Chapman) Ramsey. She and Fate Odell Clayburn were married at Ringling, Oklahoma in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 1976. She worked as a nurses aide at both the Colonial Plaza Nursing Center in Cushing, Oklahoma and the Country Club Care Nursing Center in Duncan. She enjoyed fishing, doing her house and yard work but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, a daughter Vicki Selby and a granddaughter Leslie Selby. Survivors include her son Randy Odell Clayburn of Duncan; her daughter Sandy Kyzer of Conway, Arkansas; a brother Chuck Ramsey of Comanche; two step sons Billy Dan Clayburn of Empire and Leonard Clayburn of Duncan; two step daughters Virginia Clayburn of Elgin and Linda Hancock of Dayton, Ohio; numerous grand, great grand and great great grandchildren as well as a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Josh Bumpas, Robbie Harvey, Mark Morrow, Ashley McKinley, Jacob Jones and Steve Landry. Grandsons and great grandsons will service as honorary pallbearers.
