Ronald Eugene Goetz, 79, of Comanche, OK, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the Ardmore Veterans Center. Ronald was born November 16, 1933, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Earl and Ruby Doris (Stewart) Goetz. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956 and was stationed at White Sands New Mexico where he worked on guided missiles. He and Margaret Louise Wilson were married November 11, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served as the president and treasurer of the Eagles Lodge in Glendale, Arizona; the President of the Comanche Chamber of Commerce; and on the Comanche City Council. He was an author and published two books: "The Kid" and "The Kid from Lincoln County", both historical fiction about Billy the Kid. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, panning for gold, collecting rocks, his dogs, reptiles and loved all animals. He was an artist, loved to draw and create stained glass and wood pieces. He was an avid adventurer, desert rat, and loved yard sales. Survivors include his wife Margaret in Comanche; a son and two daughters of Terre Haute, Indiana: Kenneth Eugene Goetz, Susan Kay Cottrell, and Terri Lynn Hammond; a daughter, Kathy Ann Troost of Snohomish, Washington; two step sons Kip Wayne Allen and Kary Ray Allen from Arizona; a step daughter Kandi Marie Harrington of Virginia; a brother Kenneth Wayne Goetz of Lake Montezuma, Arizona; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
