Richard Lee Bennett, 71, of Duncan passed away Sunday, February 19th, 2012 at his home in Duncan. Service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Eastside Church of Christ with Ron Stough officiating. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday. Richard was born May 1, 1940 at Junction City, Kansas the son of F. E. "Ben" and Mildred Magdalene Thoes Bennett. He graduated from the Wichita West High School at Wichita, Kansas in 1958. He and Joyce Elaine Kerns were married at Prairie Hill Church of Christ on July 30, 1966. He received a Bachelors of Science Degree from the Wichita University in Wichita, Kansas with a major in mathematics and a minor in German. He was employed as a systems analyst for CGI for 28 years retiring in 2011. He was a faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ for 32 years, where he served as a Deacon and for the past 12 years he had served as an Elder. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. He is survived by his wife Joyce Bennett of the home; two sons Jeff Bennett of Moore, Oklahoma and Jerald Bennett of York, Nebraska; two daughters Jamie Logan and her husband Lancy of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Joni Hannabass and her husband Brent of Stillwater, Oklahoma; a brother Roger Bennett and his wife Linda of Derby, Kansas; a sister Patti Martin of Pryor, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and a brother-in-law James Kerns of Duncan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
