Raymond Richard Springer, 78, of Comanche passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 in the Meridian Nursing Center. Graveside memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the Fort Sill National Cemetery at Elgin, Oklahoma. Services will be escorted by the Patriot Guard and Military honors will be conferred by the Stephens County Combined Honors Team. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Raymond was born June 22, 1934 at Madison, Wisconsin the son of Raymond Charles Spinger and Kathryn Huza. He and Bertha Petrie were married at Russellville, Arkansas on July 11, 1989. He came to the Duncan area several years ago and currently resided in Comanche. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and is a retired truck driver who loved to tinker with many projects. He loved to fish and along with his wife, ran the Duncan Lake Concession in 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Diane Franco. Survivors include his wife Bertha of the home; three daughters LouAnn Springer of Lemont, Illinois, Pam Rhamy and husband Teddy of Comanche, Oklahoma and Amie Gates of Everett, Washington; two grandchildren LaTasha Caton and husband John of , Todd Rhamy and wife Erica of Duncan, four great grandchildren Johnathen Caton, Anthony Caton, Nathan Taff, and Michael Rhamy of Duncan and a host of friends.
