Raul Morones

Raul "El Gato" Morones, 68, of Duncan passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 in the Duncan Regional Hospital . Services will be 10 am Wednesday in the Assumption Catholic Church with Pastor Peter Jandaczek officiating. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday". Raul was born May 4, 1944 at Cd. Juarez, Mexico the son of Candelario and Manuela Lopez Morones. He graduated from the Lydia Patterson High School in El Paso , Texas . He and Guadalupe Rodriguez were married July 9, 1982 at Duncan , Oklahoma . He worked as the manager of Goodners Steak house in Duncan from 1982 to 1986. He was a faithful member of the Assumption Catholic Church, loved singing, music and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife Guadalupe of the home in Duncan; two sons Raul Morones, Jr. of Cd. Juarez, Mexico and Sergio Morones of Las Vegas, Nevada; a step son Angel Orquiz, Jr. of Duncan; two daughters Claudia Andujo of El Paso, Texas and Cindy Salazar of Duncan; a brother Marcos Morones of Roswell, New Mexico; three sisters Alejandrina Hermosillo of El Paso, Texas; Rachel Dowdy of Roswell, New Mexico and Maria Rodriguez of Duncan and 9 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jonathan E. Torrez, Marcos Morones, Sr., Marcos Morones, Jr., Jay Rodriguez, Chilo Duran, Jr., Emilio Carranza, Jr., Ivan Ortega, Israel Salazar.
