Phyllis Tims, 81, of Chickasha passed away Thursday, November 24th, 2011 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2011 in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home with Reverend Travis Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Marlow Cemetery. Phyllis was born January 3, 1930 at Matador, Texas the daughter of Myrel James and Frances Julia Warren Hickman. She and Jarrell Mavis Tims were married at Marlow, Oklahoma on January 29, 1946 and he preceded her in 1996. She worked a book keeper, home care giver, sold vacuum cleaners and worked on the farm with her parents. She attended the Ellison Avenue Methodist Church in El Reno, Oklahoma and the Cornerstone Church in Chickasha. She was very active in church, loved spending time with her family, enjoyed singing gospel hymns, reading the Bible, was a prayer warrior and provided a good Christian foundation for many neighborhood children who called her Nana and her husband G-Dad. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two grandchildren Christopher Shawn Torrance and Kana Rachelle Hutson. Survivors include three daughters Peggy Mulanax of ElReno, Oklahoma, Connie Jentoft of Oklahoma City and Sharon Puls of Ensenada, Mexico; grandchildren Kevin Hutson of McAlester, Kerri Torrance of Chickasha, Meghan Behrens of Yukon, Miranda Mulanax of ElReno, Michael Mulanax of Oklahoma City, Jens Jentoft of Oklahoma City and Jordan Jentoft of Oklahoma City; a sister Francis Golsby of Guthrie and a niece she helped raised Natalie Hutson of Oklahoma City and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
