Norman Ralph Benson

Norman Ralph Benson, 77, of Marlow passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 in the Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Service will be 10:30 AM Monday in the Bible Baptist Church with Reverend Jeremy Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Norman was born September 19th, 1935 at Union City, Pennsylvania the son of Everrett Reed and Isla Benson. He served in the united states Army and attended the Bible Baptist Church. He and Jane Pinkerton were married at Lawton, Oklahoma on August 22, 1979. He owned and operated Benson's Auto Salvage and Benson's Antiques in Marlow. He was a race driver and won the NHRA Spring Nationals, was a member of several antique car clubs and collected and sold antique guns. He was preceded in death by his parents a brother and a sister. Survivors include his wife Jane Benson of the home in Marlow; three daughters Debbie Jones of Duncan; Kathy Kloss of Norman and Karen Blakemore of Marlow; three sons Kenneth Benson of Mesquite, Texas; Brian Benson of Oklahoma City and Lance Gray of Marlow; a sister Betty Jewel of Duncan; seventeen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brandon Harwell, Josiah Harwell, Cory Rowley, Michael Hendrix; Robert Scott and Matthew Keller. Online condolences may be made at www.bailespolk.com
