Nona Carol Thomson

Nona Carol Thomas, 83, of Duncan passed away Tuesday, August 16th, 2016 in the Duncan Regional Hospital. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Wayne Medlin and Reverend Lynn Parkhurst officiating. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Carol was born January 17, 1933 at Hastings, Oklahoma the daughter of Harry and Lola Mary (Dunford) Purvis. She and Arthur Thomson were married and to this union two daughters and one son were born. She was the owner of Carols Cakes and Pastries in Duncan for many years. She was a member of the Stephens United Methodist Church in Duncan and when she moved to North Carolina she attended the Good News Independent Baptist Church. Loved to draw and paint, reading, working puzzles and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara Deane Shephard and her son Bill Thomson. Survivors include her daughters Deborah Medlin and her husband Charles of Spring Hope, North Carolina and Cindy Vick and her husband Bob of Caldwell, Texas; daughter-in-law Sharon Thomson Jacks; grandchildren Willie "Chuck" Medlin, Jennifer Jones, Randy Medlin, Sandy Pierce, Kayla Vick, Kassidy Williams, Katie Vick, Zane Thomson, and Jeremy Thomson; 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
