Mattie Marcella Cherry

Marcella Cherry, 79, of Duncan passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 after a long illness. Services will be10:00 AM Thursday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tracy Wilson and Reverend Steven Gillespie officiating. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 5 - 7 PM Wednesday. Marcella was born to Henry Marvin and Dulcie Holman Price, February 24, 1931 in Waurika, Oklahoma. She married to Burl Cherry May 4, 1952 in Duncan, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2000. She was an amazing gardener and master seamstress. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church and later Parkview Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include three daughters Cathy Collier and her husband Mike of Sulphur, Louisiana, Sandra Clark and her husband Joe of Duncan and Freda Wilson and her husband Lynn of Duncan; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; 3 brothers: 2 sisters. Pallbearers will be Justen Clark, Scott Collier, Mike Collier, Aaron Lang, Kyle Stephenson, Cole Stephenson, Hunter Stephenson and Lynn Wilson.
