Mary Ruth Cooper, 81, of Duncan passed away Sunday, November 1st, 2015 in the Duncan Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday in the Eastside Church of Christ with Ron Stough officiating. Interment services will be 2:00 PM in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 5:30 to 8 PM on Tuesday. Mary was born July 31, 1934 at Bonita, Texas the daughter of Benjamin and Mary M. (Hurley) Kennedy. She and Harry Dan Cooper were married at San Jose, California on September 16, 1953. She worked for the P & S hospital from 1968 to 1977 until it became the Duncan Regional Hospital. She also worked as a bus monitor for the Duncan Public Schools for several years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Duncan Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 39 and the Eastside Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Mary Myrtle Cooper, six brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband Harry Dan Cooper of the home; son Virgil Lloyd Cooper of Duncan; daughter Regina Lynn Trantham and her husband Richard of Duncan; granddaughter Sonya Michele Trantham of Duncan; sister Maurine Laundrie of San Jose, California. and sister-in-laws Gladys Kennedy of Duncan and Johnnie Kennedy of Phoenix, Arizona Pallbearers will be Kenneth Baldwin, David Baldwin, Michael Baldwin, James Stepp, Jim Allen and Raul Luna. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Coker, Charles Hunt and other members of the Duncan Masonic Lodge. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the India Shrine Childrens Hospital Transportation Fund at 3601 NW 36th Street Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112 On line condolences may be made at www.bailespolk.com
