Marcus Knight, 55, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed from this life Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at his home in Duncan surrounded by his family.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday in the Ray of Hope Church with Reverend Matt Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family would ask that you wear your favorite sports attire.
Marcus was born October 7, 1967 in Evansville, Indiana the son of Rodney Lee and Carolyn (Greer) Knight. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1986. He then attended Northeastern Oklahoma College and played football. Pillsbury Baptist College in Minnesota was his next stop where he wrestled. He was NCCAA Champion at heavyweight. He came back home to Oklahoma and finished his Bachelor's degree at Cameron University.
He began his coaching career and was living his dream coaching any sport available. He was All State 5a Coach of the year in 2010. He received his Master's Degree at Southern Nazarene University in Administration in 2014. He was the Football, Baseball and Wrestling Coach for Bray-Doyle and planned on going back and just teaching this year but his health didn't allow it. His life revolved around all sports and students. He fought Cancer just like he always competed and never gave up. His strength was admired by all that knew him. He attended the Duncan Rescue Mission Church. He was preceded in death by his father Rodney Lee Knight, paternal grandparents Gib Sr and Mildred Knight and maternal grandparents Carmel and Dorothy Greer.
Survivors include his mother Carolyn Knight of Duncan, Oklahoma; sister Monica Huffaker and husband Curtiss of Duncan, Oklahoma; nephew Clint Huffaker of Duncan, Oklahoma and significant other Donna Kilbourn Campbell of Moore, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hutto, Kelly Kirkland, Coach Casey Coles, Victor Morgan, Darrel Martin, Quinn Grovey, Larry Wiseley, Steve Richardson
Honorary Pallbearers will be former players and coaching Associates.
