Ludmila Mileant passed away at the age of 78 in Duncan Oklahoma, on December 3, 2016 after succumbing to cancer. Services will be 10AM Tuesday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Arnold Nelson officiating, followed by a traditional Russian Orthodox service beginning at 11:00 AM officiated by Father Jeremy Davis. Interment will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche. She was born in the Ukraine and fled Europe during the second World War with her parents, establishing a life in Argentina. She spent her youth and young adult life living in Buenos Aires, where she enjoyed participating and watching theater and performance arts. She was also very devout to her Russian Orthodox faith and charity work. In her mid-twenties she met her future husband, who was interested in becoming an Orthodox priest. They both moved to New York and got married. After her husband was ordained, they moved to Los Angeles. Ludmila stayed active in her church, working in the sisterhood, singing in the choir, and producing talent and stage shows for the church benefit. Ludmila and her husband had three children. Later in life she lived in several other cities, but usually stayed close to her daughter. After her daughter got married and started her own family, Ludmila was there to help watch her grandchildren when needed and enjoyed sharing her time together with the family. She had been living in Oklahoma for the last seven years. She was a kind and generous woman, who strived to live a modest and humble life.
