Lola Marie Fitzgerald

Lola Marie Fitzgerald, 91, of Duncan passed away Monday, January 21st, 2013 at Duncan Regional Hospital. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday at the Heritage Oaks Church of the Nazarene, with Reverend John Haynes officiating, assisted by Reverend Doug Gonzalez. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes - Polk Funeral Home. Marie was born January 28th, 1921 as the daughter of Elmer Roy and Gussie Mae Hayes Pollock. She and Robert Bruce Fitzgerald, Sr. were married August 29, 1949 in Duncan, Oklahoma. She graduated from Duncan High School and attended the Duncan Business College. She worked as a secretary in the Hills County Tax Office in Hillsboro, Texas, and as a secretary in the financial aid office for the Texas Woman's University in Denton Texas. She retired to Duncan in 1987 and was a member of the Heritage Oaks Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the Believers Sunday School Class, Missionary Society, and greatly enjoyed her Church, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Bruce Fitzgerald, Sr.; her son Robert Fitzgerald, Jr.; brothers Jerry Pollock and Bill Pollock, sister Velma & husband Ivan Haynes, sister Retha & husband Bill Parr, sister Imogene & husband Charles Gordon, and sister Betty and husband Leon Towell. Also preceded by brother-in-law Guy Fitzgerald. Survivors include her brother Dwayne Pollock and his wife Charlene of Duncan; sister-in-laws Eulla Nell Pollock and Linda Pollock-Spivey, both of Duncan; sisters-in-law Mary Lou Rogers of Mobile,AL, & Fairy Gauldin & husband of Foreman, AK., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
