Lacosta Dawn Woods

October 8, 1977 — July 28, 2022

On the morning of July 28, 2022, we lost our beloved LaCosta Dawn Woods.
She was 44 years old and born in Rayville, Louisiana on October 8,1977 to Phillip Wayne Woods and Linda Ruth (Holloway) Woods.
She was a Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend.

LaCosta grew up in Oklahoma and was a 1996 Comanche High School Graduate and in a few years became a wife and mother.
She also worked at United Realty with her sister and wore many hats in the office, whatever it took to get the job done.

If we had to choose one word for her it would be Mom. It was her passion in life. She loved and cherished every single moment.
She also loved being an aunt, she adored her nieces and nephews.
Family was very important to her, and she wanted to celebrate everyone at every opportunity.

Birthdays, holidays and any family gatherings. She was the first to suggest a get together and always had a game to play or activity so that everyone had a good time. Any school program or sporting event she was the first in line to attend and made sure everyone else was there so that not a moment was missed. She was always proud and had a smile on her face and a camera in her hand.

She enjoyed the simple things in life. She never got caught up in material things. She was a huge Elvis fan and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music. She kept up with the Texas Rangers and watched a game every chance she got. One of her favorite activities though was watching WWE with her son. She enjoyed movie and pizza night with the family. Going to garage sales with her mom and looking for bargains. She was a regular at the library because she loved to read. She always had a book in her hand or on the nightstand. She had a heart the size of Texas. She was as an animal lover and any dog or cat always put a smile on her face and she wanted to pet and love them all.

LaCosta was a free spirit with a creative artistic side that few people knew about. She wasn't afraid to think outside the box and do something different or unexpected.

There is so much more to say about our dear sweet LaCosta. Words are not enough.
We miss her. We love her.

LaCosta is survived by one son; Jacob Ryan Gauthun. Father; Phillip Wayne Woods. 2 sisters and one brother in law; Dina Woods, Stacie and Chris Maxey. One nephew; Bryan Hensley. One niece; Taylor Maxey. She is preceded in death by her Mother; Linda Ruth Holloway.

Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Alan Wax officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche.
