Kenneth Wayne Maxwell

Kenneth (Rosie) Maxwell, 71, of Velma arrived at his Heavenly home Friday, January 11, 2019. He was at home with his family after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January15 at the Bethesda Church of God with Reverend Harold Metheny officiating. Interment will be Friday, January 18, at 2:00 PM in the Parks Cemetery under the direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, January 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Bailes-Polk.

Kenneth was born November 1, 1947 in Pauls Valley, OK to Fred and Pauline (Hoffman) Maxwell. He was the third of six children. He and Angela Wilson were married September 4, 1988 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He attended Bethesda Church of God. What he enjoyed most was time with his family and playing golf. He was a member of the Texoma Senior Men's Golf Tour and thoroughly enjoyed his time with the other members.

Kenneth worked most of his life in the oil industry, spanning from Alaska to Louisiana and beyond, spending a lot of time on off shore oil platforms. He also managed the Wildhorse Golf Course in Velma for several years. He most recently ran a commercial mowing company and was contracted to Plains Pipeline where he met some great people that became very good friends.

Greeting him as he arrived in heaven were his parents, a brother, Carlis Maxwell and his precious daughter Donna (Net) Maxwell.

He is survived by his wife Angela, of their home near Velma; daughters Kim Hollock and husband Clay of Velma, Kristie Gardner and husband Laramie of Velma and Kenna Maxwell of Duncan; brothers Charles Maxwell, Jr. of Velma and Mitchell Maxwell of Pauls Valley; sisters Joyce Parreira and husband Danny of Hanford, California and Annette O'Neal and husband Gary of Healdton; grandchildren Steven Harris, Jayme Harris, Kristie Harris, Taylor Southerland, Tana Bandy and Lucy Gardner and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Horton, Troy Castor, B J Chapman, Shawn Weeaks, Jeff Stallons and Michael Stallons. Honorary pallbearers will be Charley Weeaks, Leonard Jackson, Leo Stiewart, Dale Pollock, Ronnie Peavler, Harold Bradshaw and the members of the Wildhorse Golf Course.

Kenneth was dearly loved by his family and community and his absence will leave a huge void in the lives of many people.

Memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Tulsa, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
