Joseph Henry Burton, 78, of Duncan passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his home in Duncan.
Services will be 10:00 Am Thursday in the Freedom Biker Church with Mike Kaiser officiating. Interment service will be in the Ft. Sill National Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home
Services will be escorted by the Patriot Guard and Military Honors will be conferred by the United States Navy Honors Team.
Joe was born April 5, 1940 at Oneida, New York the son of Harry Albert Burton, Sr. and Ruth Marie (Medberry) Burton. He retired form the United States Navy after serving 21 years. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries receive on February 15, 1971 in Vietnam. He enjoyed collecting Stamps and riding motor cycles. He was a member of the Freedom Biker Church, Patriot Guard, Duncan VFW Post1192 and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janet and brother Don.
Survivors include sons Joseph Henry Burton of Poughkeepsie, New York and Cothy Phillips of Duncan, Oklahoma; daughters Teresa Kim Burton of Utica, New York and Nicole Marie Burton of Poughkeepsie, New York; brothers Kenneth Charles Burton of Miami, Oklahoma, Richard Burton of Texas, David Burton of Oneida, New York and Harry Burton of Oneida, New York and sisters Mary of Oneida, New York and Ruth Ann and Margaret both of Cincinnati, Ohio.
