Joseph Addison Landram January 3, 1926-January 15, 2012 Joseph Addison Landram, 86, of Velma, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 3, 1926 in Santa Fe, Oklahoma to L.W.(Pete) and Pearly Landram. J.A. married Fay Yocum on March 5, 1947 in Henrietta, Texas. After graduating high school, he served in the US Army 7th Infantry during World War II. He fought in numerous campaigns in Germany, including the Battle of the Bulge. J.A. worked in the oil industry and retired from Texaco after thirty nine years of service. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, spending time at the lake, and playing pool. He is survived by one sister Marvoline Stevens of Alexandria, Virginia; three children: a daughter Coleen Shirley and her husband Paul of Van Buren, Arkansas, a son Curtis Landram and his wife Samona of Kingston, a daughter Anna Dickerson and her husband Curtis Roy of Velma; six grandchildren: David Cowan, Denisa Douthit, Carrie Scates, Samantha Jalili, Sarah Dickerson, and Clay Dickerson; six great grandchildren: Hunter Douthit, Jacob Cowan, Ethan Scates, Carter Scates, Malachi Scates, and Kyah Jalili; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Fay; a daughter, Diana; five sisters, and one brother. Pallbearers will be David Cowan, Clay Dickerson, Ken Douthit, Mark Scates, Hunter Douthit, and Austin O"Neal. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17th from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Bailes-Polk Chapel in Velma. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 18th at 1 p.m. at the Velma Church of Christ with Paul Shirley leading in the Celebration of Life.
