John Randal “Randy†Myers passed from this earth on April 22nd, 2017 at home. Randy was born in Wewoka Oklahoma on July 13th, 1949 to John and Dovie Myers. Randy met his wife Dawn and for a first date took her to the Clem Mcspadden Calf Roping in what she thought was in the middle of no where and then to his home for her to cook him a chicken dinner. It was love at first bite. They married 3 months later on January 19, 1980.
Randy was a Cattle Buyer all his adult life. He loved the cattle sales and formed lifelong friendships across the state of Oklahoma. He passed his passion of the cattle business to his son Chris. Randy worked for Gibbon Packing out of Gibbon, Nebraska.
Randy was always known to be a kind, honest and dependable man. Randy never met a stranger. In the mid 1980’s and early 1990’s Randy became involved in the Elks organization and achieved District Vice-President and District Deputy to the Grand Exalted Ruler.
Randy loved sports, football, Basketball, Baseball and most especially Billards. He played with the Duncan Moose Lodge and played a couple of nights a week for many, many years. All those teammates became his extended family whom he loved dearly.
Randy’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandkids who called him PaPa. He rarely missed watching his kids play sports as they were growing up or any sport Coy or Brodie played. He loved watching all sports and would often take the boys to games even if they weren't playing. He also enjoyed going to the local rodeos and would generally take one or all of the grandkids with him.
Randy and Dawn loved to travel especially on cruises and throughout the Caribbean and South America with their best friends Steve and Judy Jones and did so for over 20 years.
Randy leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Dawn Frisby Myers, 2 children, Chris Myers and wife Tammy of Velma Oklahoma, Nicki Myers Mares and husband Josh of Duncan, 6 grandchildren, Coy Myers, Brody Williams and Coda Myers, Phoenix Mares, Hinley Mares and Salem Mares, Parents John and Dovie Myers of Wewoka, Sister Connie Davis and husband Alvin of Piedmont, brother-in-laws Joe Frisby and wife Donna of Vinita and Sean Frisby and wife Cheryl of Muskogee and mother-in-law a Joan Frisby of Tahlequah and special friends Steve and Judy Jones of Duncan as well as many nieces and nephews, his pool playing friends and many, many other friends.
