Jimmie Dee Hanson, 88, of Duncan passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 in the Country Club Care Nursing Center. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday in the Unity Baptist Church with Reverend Tracy Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Jimmie was born February 23, 1928 in Duncan, Oklahoma the son of Hugh Hanson and Myrtle Owens. He served in the United States Army from February 1946 to October 1949. He and Billie Phipps were married at Lubbock, Texas on November 14, 1944 and she preceded him in death on July 8, 2013. He worked as an Oilfield Driller and was a faithful active member of the Bethesda Church of God. He enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales and working in his church serving in many capacities including as a door greeter for many years. He was also preceded in death by his parent, a son Jimmy Don Hanson and granddaughter Bobbi Hanson Survivors include his daughter Linda Smith and her husband Robert of Duncan; daughter-in-law Brenda Hanson of Duncan; grandchildren Wayne Smith and his wife Tonia, Kim Brown and her husband Randy, Larry Smith and his wife Dawana, Mike Smith and his wife Becky, Kristie Mayes and Frank Edwards; a brother Charles Hurley and his wife Teresa and a sister Ola Mae Branon all of St. Charles, Missouri; 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
