Jewel Dean Jones

Jewel Dean Jones, 90, a former Comanche resident passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 in the Mi Casita Nursing Home in Lubbock, Texas. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche with Reverend Merl Yates officating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Jewel was born December 18, 1920 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma the daughter of Robert Otto and Willie Cottrell Stiner. She and L.B. Jones were married at Duncan, Oklahoma on April 26, 1939 and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1999. She was an LPN and had worked for the Comanche and Lindley Hospital and Comanche and Ryan Nursing Homes. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brother and one sister. Survivors include her son Willis Bartley Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a daughter Dorothy Deanne Horton of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters.
