Bailes-Polk Funeral Home 910 W. Oak Duncan, Oklahoma 73533 (580) 255-5252 J.P. Barrick, 86, of Duncan passed away May 20, 2010 in the Wilkins Nursing Center. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday in the Eastside Church of Christ with Pastor Ron Stough and Pastor Barry Haynes officiating. Interment will be in the Resthaven Memorial Garden Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday. J.P. was born October 13, 1923 at Rubottom, Oklahoma the son of William Edgar and Jessie Theodisia Auld Barrick. He attended the Empire Schools. He served in the United States Army from February 18, 1943 to November 29, 1945. He served as a tank driver and received the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. He and Sylvia L. Montgomery were married at Lawton, Oklahoma on August 28, 1945 and she preceded him in death on September 14, 1988. He retired from the TOSCO Refinery in 1983 where he had worked on the loading dock. He enjoyed ranching, traveling, spending time with family and was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers George and Bill Barrick and a sister Lorene Henin. Survivors include his son David Barrick and his wife Denise of Duncan; two sisters Imogene Johnson of Covington, Texas and Ann Dixon of Guthrie, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Nick Barrick of Lawton and Taylor Barrick of Duncan as well as other relatives and a host of friends. online condolences may be made at www.bailespolk.com Corrections Highlighted
