Jerry Maye

Jerry D. Maye, 79, of Durant, Oklahoma a former longtime Duncan area resident passed from this life Monday, January 15, 2024 in the Alliance Health Center in Durant.

Services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Christian Center in Duncan, Oklahoma with Reverend James Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Alma Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

Jerry was born October 10, 1944 in Duncan, Oklahoma the son of Roy and Estelle Maye. He graduated from the Duncan High School in 1963. He and Kaye (Brewer) Hatzenbuehler were married August 29, 2008 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He worked as a machinist for the Halliburton Energy Service. He enjoyed archery, making long bows and flint arrows, riding motorcycles and fishing. He was a member of the River Church in Durant, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jon Maye, daughter Jenny Maye and brother Roy Maye Jr.

Survivors include his wife Kaye Maye of the home in Durant, Oklahoma; daughters Jana Bloodworth and husband David of Velma, Oklahoma, Jackie Slaughter and husband Danny of Waurika, Oklahoma and Staci and James Chandler of Velma, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister Jaquetta and Terry Bowden of Ocala, Florida.
