Jerald Lawrence Davis, 80, of Ratliff City, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012, in Country Club Care Center, after a brief illness. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, at Countyline Baptist Church with the Rev. Monk Firestone officiating. His body was cremated; internment of the ashes will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6 -7 PM on Wednesday. Jerald was born September 5, 1932, in Bray, Oklahoma, the son of Dewey Lawrence Davis and Julia Ann Sherill Davis. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later received his high school diploma from Bray-Doyle High School. He married Anita Thacker on June 20, 1952, in Lawton, Oklahoma; she preceded him in death on November 18, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenneth Davis, Harold Davis and Glen Davis. His sister, Shirley Ann Jackson Carnes, passed away at her home near Rush Springs a few hours after Jerald. Jerald attended Countyline Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and thought that "a bad day fishing was better than any other day." He also loved and supported his family. Survivors are two daughters, Rickey Gayle Hoosier and her husband, Dennis, and Jessie "Humpy" Davis, all of Ratliff City; one sister, Norma Jean Coffman and her husband, Virgil, of Duncan; one brother, Donald Davis of Sherman, Texas; one grandson, Derek O'Neal and his wife, Jayme, of Ratliff City; two great-grandsons, Blaine and Cole of O"Neal, of Ratliff City; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Ronald Jackson, Eddie Jackson, Dewey (Shorty) Davis, Chris Davis, Alan Thacker, Terry Thacker, Stan Blanchard and David Davis.
