James Richard Sanders

James Richard Sanders, 86, of Marlow, Oklahoma passed from this life Monday, September 4 2023 in the Duncan Regional Hospital.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the Countryside Baptist Church with Reverend Kirby Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 5-7 PM on Friday.

James was born April 30, 1937 in Walters, Oklahoma the son of James and Opal (Stanford) Sanders. He graduated High School in Ventura, California. He and Marsha Lorene Lockwood were married in Ventura, California on June 9, 1957 and she preceded him in death. He had worked for API in Marlow, General Foods, WW Paul Scales and drove a truck for FFE. He enjoyed driving his truck, traveling, going to the casino and visiting with anyone he met. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters and two daughters.

Survivors include his son Bo Sanders and wife Jojeanna of Marlow, Oklahoma; daughter Melissa Lassiter of Duncan, Oklahoma; Sister Ruby Rogers of Chickasha, Oklahoma and grandchildren Jamie Gonzalez of Lawton, Oklahoma, Christina Boswell and husband Kevin of Lawton, Oklahoma, Jessy Bobbitt and husband Michael of Mustang, Oklahoma, Alexis Moore and husband Kevin of Eldorado, Arkansas, Jaden Sanders and husband Aje Berepele of Mustang, Oklahoma, Jerron Sanders and wife Allie of Duncan, Oklahoma, Donald Lassiter of Norman, Oklahoma, Buddy Brown and wife Ellie of College Station, Texas, Karen Rath and husband David of College Station, Texas and Brian Brown and wife Kaitlyn of Marshall, Missouri; 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
