James Kenneth Hightower, 83, of Duncan passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 in the Duncan Regional Hospital. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Highland Park Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Larson, Pastor Robert Teague, Lester Vogler and Reverend Jerry Couch officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Monday. James was born At Hollis, Oklahoma January 10, 1933 the son of James Lester and Mima Josiphene (Holstead) Hightower, He and Amaleta Stewart Gray were married at Duncan, Oklahoma February 14, 1997. He worked as an air craft mechanic working for Airo Comander, Douglas Aviation and General Dynamics. He was a faithful member of the Highland Park Baptist Church loved gardening and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother AK Hightower, sisters Alma Ward, Vena Kerbo, Thelma Tipton and Evelyn Kerbo and two daughters Jeanette Chapman and Donna Hightower. Survivors include his wife Amaleta Hightower of the home in Duncan; daughter Myrna Willeford of Big Sandy, Texas; step-son Kenneth Gray of Duncan; step-daughter Marlina Sharp of Norman, Oklahoma; brother Dennie HIghtower of Duncan, Oklahoma; grandchildren Adam Willeford of Wasilla, Alaska, Eric Willeford of Big Sandy, Texas, Bonnie Willeford of Tyler, Texas, Anna Hogan of Big Sandy, Texas, Seth Willeford of Dallas, Texas, Hope Willeford of Dallas, Texas, Cory Sims of White Oak, Texas, Sammi Jo Deisher of College Station, Texas, Amanda Holt of Tyler, Texas, Clayton Chapman of Tyler, Texas, Emily Patterson of Duncan, Caleb Gray of Duncan, Nicholas Sharp of Norman and Lindsey Sharp of Norman; 17 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
