February 14, 1926 — April 6, 2014

Glenn Douglas Wooten, 88, of Duncan went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 6th, 2014 at his home in Duncan. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the Victory Baptist Church with Reverend Russell Tuck officiating. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Military honors will be conferred by the Stephens County Combined Honors Team and services will be escorted by the Patriot Guard. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 5-7 PM Wednesday. Glenn was born February 14, 1926 at Waurika, Oklahoma the son of Sammie Sullivan and Leona Valentine (Foster) Wooten. He and Betty Lucille Hayes were married September 12, 1964 at Wichita Falls, Texas and she preceded him in death on August 7, 2011. He served in the United States Army from August 1944 to July 1946. He retired from the maintenance department at Halliburton after 34 years of service and was a faithful member of the Victory Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister Melba Lois Darity, a step-son Richard Cowan and step son in law H. L. Abernathy. Survivors include his son James Wooten and his wife Patty of Duncan; a step-daughter Marilyn Abernathy of Iowa Park, Texas; a brother Charles Wooten and his wife Bertie of Duncan; eight grandchildren and numerous great and great great children along with one Niece and 2 Nephews. Pallbearers will be Allen Wooten, Louis Darity, Douglas Tisdale, Royce Clark, Ray Cook and Bill Watts.
