General Harrison Houston

General Harrison Houston, 90, of Duncan passed away Tuesday, April 9th, 2013 in the Duncan Regional Hospital. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Bailes - Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Hall officiating. Interment will be in the Waurika Cemetery. Military honors will be given by the Stephens County Combined Honors Team and service will be escorted by the Patriot Guard. Harrison was born February 9, 1923 at Waurika, Oklahoma the son of Newton Lafayette and Velma Fannie (Hobson) Houston. He and Nina Elizabeth Ramsey were married at Waurika, Oklahoma in April of 1959 and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2007. He served in the United States Army, was a member of the Gospel Beams Church and love playing guitar, fishing and spending time with his family. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, two step sons, three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include two sons Leslie Houston and Gene Houston; four daughters Ima Jo Ashford, Loretta Fairl, Mary Hughes, Darlene McKinney; two step daughters Wanda Felder and Melody Lozeau; a sister Katy Robinson; a brother Curtis Houston; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as a host of friends.
