Gary Ward Underwood

Gary Ward Underwood, 60, of Duncan passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his home in Duncan. Services will be 2:00 PM in the Bethel Assembly of God Church with Reverend Ron Meador officiating and Reverend Jon Reeves assisting. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Gary was born January 27, 1955 at Duncan, Oklahoma the son of Grady and Joan (Haas) Underwood. He graduated from the Duncan High School in 1973. He and Anita Brown were married at Duncan on December 1, 1984. He retired from AT&T after 36 years of services. During this time, he worked as a Systems Tech and installed the 911 systems around the state. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church and enjoyed motor cycles ,doing outdoor work on his tractor, metal detecting, shooting trap, and Amateur Radio. His greatest joy in life was the time he spent with his family especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, brother Mike, and an infant brother. Survivors include his wife Anita Underwood of the home in Duncan; father Grady Underwood of Duncan; children Shelly Rice and her husband Neal of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Jason Underwood of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Amber Reeves and her husband Jon of Weatherford, Texas; five grandchildren Austyn Rice, Jayci Rice, Hannah Underwood, Jovie Reeves and Landry Reeves; a brother Bruce Underwood and his wife Susan of Midland, Texas; a sister-in-law Julia Underwood of The Colony, Texas and his father and mother-in-law Jessie and Juanita Brown of Lawton. Pallbearers will be Shannon Brown, Anthony Brown, Aaron Brown, Matt Lang, Cory Culver and Eddie Rogers. Online condolences may be made at bailespolk.com
