Dean Thompson

Floyd Dean Thompson, 92, of Marlow, Oklahoma passed from this life Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his residents in Marlow surrounded by his family.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Reverend Terra Sisco officiating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

Dean was born in Sulphur, Oklahoma the son of Richard Franklin "Buck" and Oma "Gin" (Grissom) Thompson. He and Juanita Kirby were married May 4, 1951 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. He was the Pastor of the Brockland Freewill Baptist Church in Lawton for 33 years. He enjoyed fishing, preaching and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Cotton Thompson, Naomi Yersin, Richard "Frank" Thompson, D.T. Thompson, Paul Thompson and Jimmy "Bones" Thompson.

Survivors include his wife Juanita Thompson of the home in Marlow, Oklahoma; sons Buck Thompson and wife Peggy of Kerrville, Texas and Joe Thompson and wife Lita of Duncan, Oklahoma; daughter Paula Wright and husband Lonnie of Marlow, Oklahoma; brother Don Thompson of Middleburg, Florida sister Johnnye Morris of Kermit, Texas; eight grandchildren Kari Garia, Andrew Thompson, Philip Thompson, Denisa Reynolds, Clayton Wright, McKinzie Ash, Billy Joe Thompson and Clint Duesman and 18 great and great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Nelson, Andrew Thompson, Philip Thompson, Clint Duesman, Dan Davis, Dan Jordan, Artie Bryant and Seth Reynolds.
