Elizabeth Lois Burris Haney, 73, of Duncan passed away Wednesday, August 7th, 2013 at her home in Duncan. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday in the New Hope Baptist Church West With Reverend Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will be held 2:00 PM in the Ft Sill National Veterans Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 2 - 4 PM on Sunday. Elizabeth was born August 17, 1939 at Cotulla, Texas the daughter of Earl Hays Burris, Jr. and Dora Edith Goff Tyler Hays. She graduated from the Woodsboro High School in Woodsboro, Texas. She and John Gerry Haney were married June 24, 1960 at Woodsboro, Texas. She worked for 25 years in the First Christian Church Day Care Center and loved to read and sew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Step Father John R, Tyler, Jr and her brother Thomas E. Burris. Survivors include her husband John Gerry Haney of the home in Duncan; two daughters Rhonda Hlavaty and her husband Ben of Mustang, Oklahoma and Kelly Turner of Duncan, Oklahoma; two granddaughters Kristen Turner and Amber Turner both of Duncan; a grandson Tanner Turner; a great grandson Zachary Turner; a sister Rita Burris of Austin, Texas; a sister-in-law Joye Burris of Houston, Texas; a niece Sandra Moss and her husband Greg an two nephews Brian and Brett Burris. Members of the Southwest Oklahoma Rail Road Association will serve as pallbearers. The family has requested donations be made to the New Hope Baptist Church West Building Fund.
