David Lelon Wells

David L. Wells, 80, of Duncan passed away Sunday, April 28th, 2013 at his home in Duncan. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche with Reverend Daryl Schmitt officiating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.. D.L. was born December 14, 1932 at Loco, Oklahoma the son of Dewey D. and Addie P. (Monden) Wells. He graduated for the Loco High School. he and Oma Faye Hyde were married at Ft. Worth, Texas on December 19, 1963 and she preceded him in death on October 29, 2006. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion, loved to hunt, fish, camp and was a general outdoors man. He retired from the Stephens County Sheriff Department. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Vicki Weldon, two sisters Euvon Stewart, and Margret Fullerton. Survivors include two sons Rick Shelton of Comanche and Charley Clampitt of Cumby, Texas; a sister Deanna Logan of Alamo, Texas; granddaughters Crystal Amara of Ft. Worth, Texas, Miranda Chandler of Ft. Worth, Texas, Cassi Sluka of San Antonio, Texas and Hanna Shelton of California and several great grandchildren.
