Dalphine Louise Cox Whatley, 92, of Duncan passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the Elk Crossing and Rehab. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Neher officiating. Interment will be in the Alma Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 PM on Friday. Dalphine was born December 20, 1923 at Healdton, Oklahoma the daughter of Alfred David "Dee" and Erttie Mae (Parker) Henderson. She graduated from the Fox High School in 1942. She and Garland Cox were married at Healdton, Oklahoma on May 31, 1942 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2001. She later married Melvin Whatley in Lawton, Oklahoma on September 20, 2012. She was a member of the Alma Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She was a homemaker and love crocheting, knitting and most of all spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Survivors include her husband Melvin Whatley of the home; son Garland Dale Cox and his wife Cheryl of Duncan; her daughter Paula Louise Ermis and her husband Frank of Fredrick, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
