Dalen Newton Copeland

Dalen Newton Copeland, 75, of Comanche passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his home in Comanche. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Comanche with Dee Bowen officiating. Military honors will be given by the Stephens County Combined Honors Team and services will be escorted by the Patriot Guard. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. There will be no viewing at the Funeral Home. Dalen was born December 3, 1938 at Los Angeles, California the son of Hayden and Edna (Harris) Copeland. He and Billie Jean Melton were married at Deming, New Mexico on December 11, 1971. Dalen was a machinist and welder and loved spending time working on family vehicles and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Rise Copeland. Survivors include his wife Billie of the home in Comanche; three sons John Copeland of Arvada, Colorado, Dall Copeland and his wife Misty of Duncan and Garrett Copeland of Comanche; a sister Darla Acker and her husband Loren of Tucson, Arizona; nephew Douglas Wright and his wife Sylvia of Tucson, Arizona and three grandchildren Kallie, Kade and Koltan Copeland.
