Clara Viva Mcfarland

Clara V. McFarland, 96, a former long time Duncan resident, departed this life Wednesday, October 1st, 2014, in the James L West Hospice House in Ft. Worth, Texas. She had been living in Grand Prairie, Texas for the past five years. Clara was born November 25, 1917 in Duncan, Oklahoma, the daughter of George and Beulah (Boyles) Sanner. She and Ralph Glenn McFarland were married at Duncan, Oklahoma on January 17, 1946, and he preceded her in death April 8, 2007. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ and was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister. Clara enjoyed volunteering after retiring as a librarian in Enid, Oklahoma. She volunteered at the Hospice office, Duncan Regional Hospital, and the Duncan library. Survivors include a son Randy McFarland of Newport, Tennessee; two daughters Sharon Scroggins of Arlington, Texas and Clarissa Henson of Columbia, Tennessee; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
