Clara Gertrude “Gertie” (Wilson) Long, 93, of Duncan went home to her mansion in heaven Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She lived a long full life on earth and made many happy memories with family and friends. She is now rejoicing in heaven with those who have gone before her. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2021 in the First Free Will Baptist Church of Duncan with Reverend Mike King officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6-8 PM on Thursday. Gertie was born November 7, 1927 in Santa Fe, Oklahoma the daughter of Benjamin H. and Georganna (Doan) Wilson. She and Charlie Long were married in Clayton, New Mexico on August 15, 1945. They were happily married for more than 65 years until his death on March 27, 2011. She enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, volunteering and doing programs at the Delta Nutrition Center, sharing stories with her family and working outside in the flower beds. She was a longtime faithful member of the Duncan First Free Will Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son Ronald Paul Long, five brothers and many family members and friends. Survivors include her daughter Anna Charlene Disney and husband Jeff Spencer of Corinth, Texas; her daughter-in-law Karen Long of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; grandchildren Leanna Matthews of Duncan, Oklahoma and Michael Long and wife Stacy of Castle Rock, Colorado, five great grandchildren Charles Shults, Craig Matthews, Alexandra Matthews, Payton Long and Carson Long and nine great great grandchildren; step grandsons Yuuki and Sean Spencer of Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Long, Charles Shults, Claud Morris, Doug Brendahl, Jack Anderson and James Cook. Online condolences may be made at www.bailespolk.com
