Bailes-Polk Funeral Home 910 W. Oak Duncan, Oklahoma 73533 (580) 255-5252 Bobby Joe "Bob" Werner, 80, of Duncan passed away Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at his home in Duncan. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Fort Sill National Cemetery at Elgin under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. There will be no Visitation at the Funeral Home. Bob was born September 16, 1929 at Wilson, Oklahoma the son of John and Thelma Worrell Werner. He graduated from the Wilson High School in 1947. He and Mary Elizabeth Foster were married at Gainesville, Texas on November 23, 1946 and were married for 63 years. He Served in the United States Air Force from July 22, 1947 to May 31, 1949. He served under General MacArthur during the occupation of Japan. He was the chief operator for the Sun Oil Refinery in Duncan for over 30 years. IN 1966 he bought Bob"s Drive-in and he and his wife were owner-operators until 1976. He was a life member of the NRA, MOCA, CAF, past state commander of the MOCA and life member of the AFA. He enjoyed fishing, Water Skiing, traveling in his RV, spending time with is family and in his younger year was an avid boxer. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John Werner, Jr. and a great grandson Nicholas. Survivors include his wife Mary of the home in Duncan; three sons Kenneth Werner of Corpus Christi, Texas, Richard Keith Werner and wife Dana of Jacksonville, North Carolina and Steven Kirk Werner and wife Debbie of Altus, Ok; one daughter Karen Annette McCown and husband Rick of Duncan; three brothers Gene Werner and wife Eva of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Zebedee Werner of Duncan and Lyndal Werner and wife Vickie of Chandler, Oklahoma and sister-in-law Billye Werner of Independence, Kansas; 13 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren as well as a host of friends.
