Billy G. Palmer

Billy G. Palmer, 81 of Duncan passed away Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 at his home in Duncan. Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6 - 8 PM on Monday. Billy was born October 9, 1929 at Duncan, Oklahoma the son of Homer C. and Maggie Cox Palmer. He and Delores Hutchinson were married in North Carolina in 1951 and she preceded him in death in August of 1997. He later married Lorene Mashburn Patterson at Duncan, Oklahoma on August 25, 2000. He served in the United States Navy During World War II and the Korean Conflict. He came back to Duncan in 2000 from Springfield, Virginia where he had lived for 47 years. He was a member of the City Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife Lorene Patterson Palmer of the home; two sons Lonnie G. Palmer of Springfield, Virginia and Steven M. Palmer of Lorton, Virginia; step children Darel Patterson of Oklahoma City and Carol Moody of Duncan; Grandchildren Jacklyn Nelson, Jason Christopher Palmer, Jonathan Scott Palmer, Justin Palmer; a great grandson Drew Nelson; a sister Dola Whaley of Duncan; two sister-in-laws Effie and Alice Palmer as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
