Billie Ray Jones

January 20, 1947 — August 27, 2020

Billie Ray Jones, 73, passed away on August 27, 2020, in Duncan, OK. Billie was born on January 20, 1947 in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Leon Jones and Beatrice Ballard. Billie and Sheila Horner wwere married in Wichita Falls, Texas on February 5, 1987. He and Sheila owned Book Keeping 1 in Duncan. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, collecting antiques and spending time with his family. He attended the Road to Eternity Church. He was preceeded in death by his parents and a brother Roger Marshall. Everyone that knew him, knew he was a giver and a giver and a giver. Helping others is what made him happy and thrive. With this in mind he chaose to donate his body to Oklahoma Health and Science hoping that he could somehow continue to help others. Even if it was only one that would be enough he said. However, due to COVID-19 this was not to be and the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home graciously agreed to step in and handle the arrangments. He also aske for no funeral or memorial servie as he never liked a fuss made over him. He said if someone wanted to remember him please give to the charity of your choice or if you wanted to be more personal help to continue his (PAPA JAR) ministrey. We would put money into a jar all the time, little amounts or sometimes large amounts and when he came across an elderly person in line paying for their groceries and not having qiute enough he would somehow find a $20 bill of two laying on the ground that they had dropped and not know it, he would do it this way as not to embassass them. He would walk up behind them when they were getting medicine and say he really really nedded a blessing so would they please allow him to pay for their medicine so he could get his his blessing, sometimes it was someone who had a housefire, tirw blow out or before pay day, prom dress or tux, church camp, just anything that he felt the Lord lead him to help with. So with this said if you wnat to donate to this ministry just send what ever you would like and we will see that this PAPA JAR continues or if you choose just close your eyes and remember him in your own way.
