Billie Jean Bailes, 83, of Norman passed away Saturday, May 7th, 2011 in the Cedar Creek Nursing Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Vamoosa Cemetery near Konawa, Oklahoma with Minister Ron Stough officiating. Services are under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Duncan, Oklahoma. Billie was born January 19th, 1928 at Konawa, Oklahoma the daughter of Theadore "Thead" Thompson and Willie Irene Henslee. She and John Calvin Bailes were married at Holdenville, Oklahoma on December 25, 1944. She attended the Konawa High School. She worked for Watts Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma and OG&E in Drumright, Oklahoma. Also, along with her husband owned the Bailes Funeral Home in Drumright, Oklahoma and along with her husband and grandson owned and operated the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home in Duncan for sixteen years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star and a faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Duncan. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Fayette Thompson, a daughter Charolett Ann Watson and two granddaughters, Christina Ann Polk and Kristal Kathleen Robertson. Survivors include her husband Calvin Bailes of the home in Norman; three daughters, Kay Robertson, Jodie Moore and her husband Ed, both of Norman, Oklahoma and Marsha Morgan and her husband Mike of McAlester, Oklahoma; grandchildren Ed Moore of Blanchard, Angie Clester of Okeene, Beau Moore of Norman, Dee Lyles of Goldsby, Ladd Polk of Duncan, Stephanie Poe of Midlothian, Texas; Susan Morgan of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Jeanie Deal of Lindsay and Elliott Robertson of Norman; 13 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Jessie Thompson of Portland, Oregon as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
