Betty Lucille "Cowan" Wooten, 90, of Duncan passed away Sunday, August 7th, 2011 at her home in Duncan. Services will be 10:00 AM in the Victory Baptist Church with Russell Tuck officiating. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes - Polk Funeral Home. Betty was born January 5, 1921at Willis Point, Texas the daughter of Willis Cleveland and Edna Eunice Lee Hayes. She and O.E. "Preacher" Cowan were married January 6, 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1963. She and Glenn Wooten were married September 12, 1964 at Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family family. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and six sisters and one son Richard Cowan. Survivors include Glenn D. Wooten of Duncan; two sons Donnie Ray Wooten and James W. Wooten both of Duncan; a daughter Marilyn J. Abernathy of Duncan; three sister Lela Rayburn, Joy Foster both of Duncan and Francis Smith of Moorehead, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be James Wooten, Donnie Wooten, Allen Wooten, Ed Schuller, Ray Hale and Micheal Nicholson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Chisholm Trail Hospice.
