Bennie Joe Doss, 85, of Duncan passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 in the Country Club Care Nursing Center. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery. Bennie was born December 3, 1928 in Duncan, Oklahoma the son of Bennie and Georgia (Parkey) Doss. He graduated from the Empire High School in 1947 and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church West. He was a farmer and enjoyed reading, listening to country music and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two aunts Aurelia Carmen and Sue Newsom, a brother-in-law Andy Cary, Jr and a nephew Mark Cary. Survivors include two sisters Virginia Cary of Duncan and Betty Ann Kelly and her husband John Kelly, II of Houma, LA; nieces Ginger Thornton of Duncan and Carol Mumford and her husband Jimmy of Walters; three 2nd nieces Jenna Thornton of Wichita Falls, Texas, Jamie Romo and her husband Carlos of Richardson, Texas and Kelly Mangel of Richardson, Texas; 2nd nephew Dustin Cary of Ardmore, Oklahoma; a cousin Ray Edmonson and his wife Janelle of Duncan and Deborah Yoder and her husband of Nashville, TN as well as a host of great nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oklahoma League for the Blind, 423 NW 13th, Oklahoma City, Ok 73103 The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to the Country CLub Care Staff and Chisholm Trail Hospice for the loving care they gave Bennie.
