Alvie Jackson

Alvie L. "Vern" Jackson, 88, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed from this life Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday in the Bethel Assembly of God Church with Reverend Ron Meador and Reverend Benny Grissom officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends for visitation fro 6-8 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Vern was born September 20, 1935 in Corum, Oklahoma the son of Bernice Minnie Elizabeth (Bowen) Jackson. He and Dorothy Lavell Grace were married in Walters, Oklahoma June 5, 1954. He worked as a truck driver and mechanic who enjoyed camping, driving river buggies and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Gayla Jackson, two brothers, four sisters and a son-in-law Dale Eberhart.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Lavell Jackson of the home in Duncan, Oklahoma; sons Rick Jackson and wife Cindy of Ochelata, Oklahoma and Mike Jackson and wife Tami of Duncan, Oklahoma; daughter Balinda Eberhart of Central High, Oklahoma; brother Buddy Jackson and wife Linda of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; sister Jean Fielding of Burkburnett, Texas; eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Jackson, Corey Jackson, Baylenn Jackson, Robbie Childers, Rob Childers and Tim Fitzsimmons.
