WILLIE JEAN (BOO) TAYLOR-SPANN


Wille Jean Spann was born February 14, 1968 to Willie James and Elsie Taylor in Duncan, Oklahoma. She departed this life at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the age of 55 years.

Willie Jean was affectionately known as 'Boo' by most of her family and friends and as Jean by her husband. A long-time resident of Duncan, she attended and graduated from Duncan High School in 1986. On 3 July 1993, she married Hector Spann a member of the Armed Services and later traveled to Washington State. To this union, three children were born. Jean put Christ on in baptism at an early age and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Jean was a wonderful homemaker, gardener, and lawn decorator. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting friends. She enjoyed working in her yard and attending family and friends' school and sporting events. Jean was an avid baker. She enjoyed baking cakes and cooking for her family, friends, and others who needed a good home-cooked meal. She was very passionate about providing a warm home for her family and certainly her pets! She enjoyed helping others by providing rides, food, and genuine friendship to friends and strangers alike.

Willie Jean received her call on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents Willie James and Elsie Taylor, grandmothers Metha Mitchell and Alta Mae Taylor, and, grandfathers Big James Taylor; and Nehemiah Thrash.

Cherishing her memory is her loving husband Hector Lee Spann; Children: Antonio Taylor, Malachi J.A. Spann, Cailup Denzel Spann, Ciara Elsie Spann; Three grand-children Anayiah Taylor (9), Haisley Spann (1) , Raylen Spann (1) ; Sisters: Teresa Bowens (Milton), Lisa Taylor, Carol Annette Taylor, Stephanie Taylor-Yates (Andre), and many other nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and relatives.
